If you follow me on Goodreads, then you’ve probably read my short version review and if you follow me on my Instagram, then there’s a 99% chance that you know Lindsey Kelk is one of my all time favorite authors. I’m so happy that she published her new book and of course I had to read it the moment it came out.
The Christmas Wish is that type of the book that is very easy to read. You connect with it immediately. It’s a book you’d pick up in your bed while drinking your tea. It’s a perfect company during holidays and that time of the year.
Gwen is home for Christmas. She is doomed to spend her holidays with her family. According to her parents – she’s a little working bee and they are proud of her. Little did they know she got fired. To make things worse – her ex cheated on her. It’s not helping that her sister and her annyoing husband will be staying over during Christmas. The only thing that keeps Gwen alive at her home is her hillarious cousin, Manny. Besides, there’s her boy next door crush, the unrequited love from teenage days. Being alive comes with the price (yes it does), so join Gwen’s journey to see what happen next.
I absolutely enjoyed reading this book and I don’t regret picking it up the first day it came out. I loved Gwen, but Manny is my favorite character and I want to have him in my life. He is so funny and so sensitive. One thing I love most about Lindey’s characters is that they are so unique. The plot is interesting even though I’ve read so many books about time loop, this one is interesting in its own way. The author’s writing style is trully brilliant and this book made me laugh more than some people. Great job, Lindsey Kelk.
I give this book big five stars and I recommend it to everyone. It’s a perfect December read. I need more books like this one.
